At the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia (CUFA BC), we are proud to support the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in their Fund BC’s Future campaign. We can’t afford to wait. It is time to invest in BC’s colleges and universities.

Governments have failed to invest in public post-secondary institutions for decades. Chronic funding shortfalls have shifted the burden of education onto today’s students, faculty, and staff. Underfunding post-secondary makes it harder to deliver quality education and research with fewer resources and with workloads distributed among too few people. It is harder to keep campuses safe and clean.

Please join us in signing the CUPE Fund BC’s Future petition at https://act.newmode.net/action/canadian-union-public-employees/fund-bcs-future. Tell the BC government to increase base funding for colleges and universities to help everyone.

• Give workers on campus more support to deliver world-class learning.
• Invest in campus infrastructure and maintain clean and healthy facilities.
• Lower tuition fees, make education more accessible for students, and stop preying on international students to make up funding shortfalls.
• Help solve BC’s skills shortage with the skilled professionals we need.
