Labour Negotiations

As part of our mandate, CUFA BC provides collective bargaining support to member associations when requested. In order to provide timely, strategic advice CUFA BC maintains an ongoing library of relevant labour relations decisions that affect our membership.

The public policy landscape in collective bargaining has shifted in recent years. As provincial governments take increasingly anti-union stands and introduce legislation designed to directly undermine the influence and effectiveness of unions, the Supreme Court of Canada has been forced to weigh in on controversial legislation in several provinces.

In addition to decisions, of national scope the foregoing compendium of arbitration and court decisions also captures recent critical decision in British Columbia as well as rulings in the post-secondary education sector that affect CUFA BC members.

CUFA BC has developed a bargaining manual to support its member faculty associations during collective bargaining.
